this epic space jam hit where it hurts and showed no mercy. beyond evil production by allan goldberg (producer/arranger for santo, slang, azoto, gaznevada) with vince tempera killing it on keys, you can t go wrong on this drugged out monster! this sounds next level even now, you can only imagine what it must have sounded like in 1977, a mighty beast that kicks the discoball out of the stratosphere!

the australian dj, producer and musician jad lee likes to have several irons in the fire all at the same time. for instance hes a member of mitzi (along charles murdoch and dominiqe bird), one half of the pan-pacific indiepop duo twiggy lashes and a solo artist known as jad & the ladyboy. under this moniker he releases music which can be described as soulful house with plenty of disco influences. for never come back down jad had singer mark borgazzi in his studio to cut a precious, groovy two-stepper into a genuine pop diamond. in order not to get only radio airplay, but also to be played out in gloomy underground clubs with extra fat subwoofers yannick provides his homicidal sexfactmix. with its untamed bassline and a milling-machine like synthesizer this feels like an unchecked punch to the gut. there will be blood on the dancefloor!

atjazz on local talk! pretty good combo right? well, just wait until you hear fox tooth and we re quite sure you ll agree with us that this is something above normal rank. martin iveson aka atjazz gave us a release that will work just as well on big sound systems as well as in those dark house basements. the original version is an electronic house jam that s equipped with all necessary tools in order to peak in the main room but without all the played out tech-house schemes. it s uplifting yet dark and carves a very personal groove - yum ! oh, don t miss the killer break down...big! the second version comes in the form of his inspired atjazz galaxy aart dub and this to be fair is more of a remix than a dub. here we step straight down to the darkness for a warming deep house cut that sounds like something from the prescription archives but still retaining the trademark atjazz sound. this is simply, sophisticated house music for those who like things real.

two dubbed techno wonders on a coloured 7 platter. lars fenin, born and raised in hamburg has been around the music scene in berlin since the mid 90ties as reggae guitarist/songwriter/live-act/artist/producer/dj. his first experiments in electronic music started in 1998 with some friends in hamburg, followed two years later by his first ep release called &#8243,,,,,herr pitzelberger dreht auf” for the berlin based label shitkatapult. since then fenin has released several eps and albums for his homies shitkatapult as well as 12&#8243,,,,,, s and remixes for labels like echocord, revolver, eintakt and mitek among others. along the years he could boast collaborations with artists such as deadbeat, mikael stavostrand, d-meteo, k.j. gibbs,horace andy, der dritte raum, eraldo bernocchi and jeff milligan. since 2008 he runs also his own label called dock-records. soundwise, fenins productions range from roots reggae/dub pieces to cordish/melodic techno sets and electronic alike soundscapes. the future is unwritten.

ovc is from chicago where he has been producing, and playing out electronic stuff in one form or another for like ten years including a lot of gigs and some residencies for example in sonotheque. but it s only the last three or four years hes gotten into the deeper side of techno and recently into the deeper/dubbier techno style, his music is a little raw as he does it all in hardware just live to two-track. he weaves together deep narratives out of a collection of blinking sequencers and drum machines, always assisted by a generous dose of reverb and delay. ovc releases with us on telrea the first 3 tracker we have done. all 3 tracks being on the calmer side of electronic music, rich in depth of sound and motion.

feel the drum beat of uneasy change in the eager hand drums, bass throbs, and stalking synth stabs turning up the tension like rents in a hip neighborhood. terrence parker goes more optimistic turn on the remix. hand stamped vinyl only rsd.

this four track ep kicks off with cladistic mutation , a sparse underwater soundtrack with only the gentlest suggestion of rhythm, lots of reverb and tiny little details that float by like micro-bacterial debris. m2 is a more beat driven dub track but is still way below the surface: the kicks are smooth and hunched over, the chords are smeared out in all directions and the atmosphere is lo-fi and grainy. on the flip, grain gets even more energetic, with firm techno kick drums setting a stern tempo as all sorts of aqueous details and spacious effec ts peppe r the groove. there s a heavenly nature to the pads and an industrial texture to the percussion that makes this a cerebral but physical affair from start to finish. lastly, neurowaves closes things down in blissfully dubbed out and horizontal fashion, with large sweeping pads, tweaked filters and evocative little details all placing you firmly under water.

our dear friend and oslo label mastermind federico molinari returns on raum, this time together with his mate alexis cabrera. both of them are hailing from argentina but currently are living in berlin. there they also met and decided to start this project together. these two jams are the first result now and we hope you like them as much as we do!

lee webster s soul reply ep kicks of the year for iutsan with two contrasting, yet seemingly connected tracks. on the chocho side you ll find soul replied - a low slung love song with moodymann-esque sampling and swung-out drums, dipping out occasionally as the female vocal comes in like a lullaby. in contrast on the culo side, you ll find devils avocado - an ibiza terrace style jam that builds from the cutting synth line into a crescendo that finally drops into a total dc10 weapon. an strong start to the year for barcelona based i used to sleep at night.

eye teeth, the new techno sub-label of interdimensional transmissions, launches with an ep from israel vines. the label say: we started this sublabel as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where it often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). this is techno from detroit and america, not detroit techno. we would like to see american techno evolve, and this new imprint is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena.

ot one for elaborate biographies or fancy press packs, twentysomething year old italian producer thomas a.s. simply prefers to let his music speak for him. and when you are constantly releasing tracks like the ones that make up his upcoming north lake ep, a string of fancy words are the last thing you need.

radio slaves f.y.n remix 1 draws on the essence of daniel bell, combining a sparse drum track with occasional *sverh* vocal while f.y.n remix 2 kills the kicks completely and favours saturated bleeps and ominous atmospherics. f.y.n remix 3 continues the distorted motif but pairs it with pin sharp and powerful drums. a release that is sure to be deployed in multiple variants due to its jigsaw-like aesthetics.

another recent masterpiece from the rising barcelona label “modern obscure music”. this time the label is introducing a 12’’ with two long lasting analogue jams made from synthesizers like moog voyager and the mythical juno 80 on abstract rhythms created with a powerful roland 909. this is an essential record for collectors of relics focused on the club. to the mysterious, exotic and even tribal vibe, the record label adds a remix by daniel martin-mccormick, best known as ital, who has recently published his 3rd album with mike paradinas (planet mu) apart from also presenting some pieces from his own record company lover’s rock or in the prestigious workshop house. remixes by jmii and pettre, aster’s ex-band components, are also added in the digital version of it.

from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. it is loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts.
wd37 broadway kiss showcases the hair-split-contrast in our disco genre. 4 songs so good, they all deserve equal attention, pontchartrain delivers, lifesaver, an immaculate distillation of house and disco fused, buffed and polished. on the inside, osmose has bottled pure disco fire with broadway kiss, a perfect party starter for any warehouse with disco leanings.
flipping to the aa, seasoned jock, derek kaye has reworked holding on and in the process landed it (and a few others!) in greg wilsons top edits of 2014 chart. by now, you must know that we are very fond of a bit of cheese in our whiskey… rulefinn sidesteps the usual elements of la biondas i got your number to focus on the slick guitar, while retaining the vocals until the end for optimal impact.
